Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Support

The goal is not just to “fix behavior.” It’s to help your child understand themselves, build skills, and thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

Clarity for parents. Confidence for children. Growth for families.

Parent Consultations

Parenting a child with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges can feel confusing and overwhelming. My consultations will give you the clarity, strategies, and support you need to help your child thrive.

In our consultations, you will:

  • Gain a better understanding of why your child may be behaving a certain way.

  • Identify the times and situations where challenges are most likely to occur.

  • Learn practical, real-life strategies and tools you can use at home.

  • Receive ongoing check-ins and advocacy, so you feel supported while putting strategies into action.

With understanding and individualized support, your child can flourish—and you can feel more confident and empowered as a parent.

Individualized Therapy: Building Awareness, Confidence, and Skills

In therapy sessions, I meet your child where they are—helping them feel understood, valued, and motivated to grow. These sessions focus on directly teaching the skills they may be missing, while celebrating who they are.

Through individualized sessions, I will:

  • Build trust and rapport while helping your child become more aware of his or her thoughts, behaviors, and actions.

  • Help them recognize their own strengths and areas for improvement in a safe, supportive way.

  • Foster motivation by showing them that people do truly understand and advocate for them.

  • Use a child-led, strengths-focused, sensory-friendly approach to directly teach missing skills in executive function, emotional regulation, flexible thinking, and social awareness.

  • Empower your child so that progress carries over into home, school, friendships, and daily life.

Additional Support

  • Ongoing or As-Needed Parent Consultations: Optional, but highly encouraged for the best results. Accountability and consistent support will accelerate your child’s growth.

  • School Consultations: Available if your child is having difficulty with behavior, emotions, or social skills in the classroom setting.

"Lauren is a wealth of knowledge and has been invaluable in working with our family in many different ways. She is passionate about helping not only our child, but us as parents, and our family unit as a whole. She doesn't just give you a new strategy, she works with you and is always wanting to know what works and what doesn't so you can get the help you need as quickly as possible. She has done all the research and reading that I didn't have the time for and has given us the tools we need to have a happier family, calmer household, and a better understanding of our families’ brains and resulting behaviors."

-Leigh R., parent

"As both a professional and a parent, I understand how hard it can be to recognize the underlying reasons for a child’s emotions and behaviors. I also know the frustration that comes with trial and error when strategies don’t seem to work. That’s why I designed these consultations—to give parents consistent, personalized guidance so they can implement the appropriate support with confidence and success."

Feeding and Swallowing Therapy

We provide a comprehensive approach to feeding and swallowing intervention, addressing the physical, sensory, and behavioral challenges related to feeding/swallowing.

Areas of Treatment

Swallowing disorders

  • Also known as dysphagia, this involves the oral and pharyngeal structures and musculature.  Dysphagia can range from aspiration (food entering the airway) to tongue thrust (immature swallow pattern causing dental and speech issues if not addressed).

Oral motor skills

  •  Improving the strength, coordination, and range of motion of the lips, tongue, and jaw.

Sensory Aversions

  • Avoidance of certain textures or types of food. We work to increase tolerance and exploration of different foods to expand your child's diet and access to nutrients

Avoidance behaviors

  • Mealtimes can be a significant source of stress for families of children who have feeding difficulties. We work with your family towards a peaceful mealtime experience so that you are able to focus on what matters most - the health and relationships of your family members.
